Description
FSC MEMBERS EDITION: From October 25th to 29th FSC will host its international general assembly and in this episode of Forest for the Future we hand the mic to two members of FSC to explain their motions proposed for the upcoming event - and to another member, who have some worries about the changes being proposed. In other words : this episode will show FSC membership democracy in action! More specifically we will talk about the use of technology in FSC and how it can help improve credibility and transparency in FSC, while reducing cost. The conversation is based on motion 61 in which Seth Zuckerman suggests that it should be mandatory for FSC forest management certificate holders to supply GIS boundary data files. And on motion 57 in which Melissa Graham suggests to make remote auditing a permanent option in a risk based approach. Both motions are discussed with Gerrit Marais, long-term FSC auditor and forest manager, who has some concerns.
