The COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to a lot of things moving around the globe – both humans and natural resources. How does a certification scheme like FSC respond to this kind of disruption? A scheme where being able to travel to audit site or have certified goods supplies is central to being able to function. FSC has had to put a series of emergency rules – or derogations as they are named – into place to make sure businesses working with FSC weren’t put to a halt unjustified.
