is.evaluation.quotes | The first round of tests examined 20 logging companies –about half the total number. The results of this first assessment give a sobering picture of the challenge facing Congo in implementing the VPA. None of the 20 companies was found to be in compliance with all aspects of the legality definition; and 14 of the companies (70% of the sample) failed to comply with more than half of the indicators. Just 7% of companies had carried out required environmental and social impact assessments. The only three companies that met most of the indicators were hose that are already FSC. | |
